Privacy Policy
Arias Software LLC ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, with whom we share it, and what choices you have. It applies to all applications and services we publish (collectively, "Services").
Our Services are intended for users aged 18 and older.
By using our Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our Services.
1. No Account or Registration Required
Our Services do not require you to create an account or provide personal registration information. You can use our apps without signing up, providing your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information.
If you choose to contact us directly (for example, by emailing us with a question or support request), we will receive the personal information you choose to share in that communication, such as your name and email address. We use that information solely to respond to your inquiry.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
Certain preferences and settings are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to our servers. This includes:
- In-app preferences and settings you configure
- Reading progress and story history
- Service tier status (Free or Unlimited)
This information stays on your device and is not accessible to us. You can clear it at any time by deleting the app.
2.2 Anonymous Usage Analytics
We collect anonymized, aggregate data to understand how our Services are used and to improve them over time. This data is stored on servers provided by Supabase, Inc., our backend infrastructure provider.
The analytics data we collect may include:
- App session information (e.g., session start/end, duration)
- Feature interaction events (e.g., which stories or content categories are accessed)
- App version and general device type (e.g., iPhone, iOS version)
- Crash reports and error logs
- General, non-precise geographic region (derived from IP address at the time of the request, not stored)
This data is anonymized before storage — it is not linked to your name, email address, Apple ID, or any other information that could directly identify you. We do not create individual user profiles. Analytics are aggregated across all users.
2.3 Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase a subscription or in-app purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment details, credit card information, or billing address.
We may receive from Apple confirmation that a valid subscription or purchase entitlement exists for your device, for the purpose of unlocking the appropriate content tier. This entitlement signal does not include personally identifying information.
2.4 Technical Log Data
Our server infrastructure (Supabase) may automatically record standard technical information associated with requests, such as timestamps and error conditions. IP addresses, if temporarily logged by infrastructure systems, are not retained by us beyond the immediate technical need and are not stored in our analytics database.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To operate, maintain, and improve our Services
- To understand usage patterns and inform product decisions
- To diagnose and fix technical issues and crashes
- To verify subscription entitlements and unlock appropriate content
- To respond to support inquiries you initiate
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not sell your information to third parties.
4. Data Storage and Third-Party Infrastructure
4.1 Supabase
We use Supabase, Inc. as our backend database and infrastructure provider. Anonymized analytics data described in Section 2.2 is stored on Supabase-managed servers. Supabase operates on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.
Supabase acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually required to handle data in accordance with applicable privacy laws. You can review Supabase's privacy practices at supabase.com/privacy.
By using our Services, you acknowledge that anonymized usage data may be stored on servers located in the United States or other jurisdictions where Supabase and AWS operate.
4.2 Apple App Store and StoreKit
Subscription and purchase entitlements are managed by Apple. Apple's handling of your App Store account and payment information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, available at apple.com/legal/privacy.
4.3 Data Location
Our Services are operated from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that information processed through our Services may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Data privacy laws in those jurisdictions may differ from those in your country.
5. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers: With infrastructure providers (such as Supabase) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, solely to provide our Services
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, subpoena, or valid government request
- Protection of Rights: When we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Arias Software LLC, our users, or the public
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all of our assets, in which case we will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy
- Aggregate Data: We may share anonymized, aggregate statistical information (such as total app downloads or general usage trends) publicly or with partners. This data cannot be used to identify any individual user.
6. Advertising and Ad Networks
6.1 Google AdMob (Non-Personalized Ads Only)
Our Services may display advertisements served by Google AdMob, an advertising platform operated by Google LLC. We have configured AdMob to serve non-personalized ads only. This means we do not request or use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not implement Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, and we do not track you across other apps or websites for advertising purposes.
Even when serving non-personalized ads, AdMob may still collect limited technical data to facilitate ad delivery, including:
- IP address (used to infer coarse, non-precise geographic location for contextual ad selection)
- Device information (model, operating system version)
- Contextual ad interaction data (e.g., whether an ad was displayed or tapped)
Non-personalized ads are selected based on contextual factors such as the content of the app and coarse location, rather than on your individual profile or activity across other apps. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can learn more about how Google uses data from apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
6.2 No User Tracking
Our Services do not request access to Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and do not implement Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies for advertising or any other purpose. Because we serve only non-personalized ads, there is no personalized advertising to opt out of.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended exclusively for adults aged 18 and older. We do not direct our Services to anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Because we do not require account registration and our analytics data is anonymized, we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from any user.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe someone under 18 has provided personal information to us (for example, through a support email), please contact us at contact@ariassoftware.com and we will promptly delete that information.
8. Your Rights and Choices
8.1 Local Data
You can clear all locally stored preferences at any time by deleting and reinstalling the app, or through your device's app storage settings.
8.2 Analytics Opt-Out
Where technically feasible, we strive to offer an in-app option to opt out of analytics data collection. Please refer to the settings within the specific app for available controls.
8.3 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:
- The right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used
- The right to request deletion of personal information
- The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- The right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information in the normal course of using our apps, most CCPA rights apply primarily to information you may have voluntarily provided (e.g., via email support). To submit a request, contact us at contact@ariassoftware.com.
8.4 European and UK Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection.
Legal Bases for Processing
We process data under the following legal bases:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to deliver the Services you use, including generating AI-powered story content and managing subscription entitlements.
- Legitimate interest: Processing anonymized analytics data to understand how our Services are used and to improve them (Section 2.2), and serving non-personalized advertisements to support the free tier of our Services (Section 6.1). Where data is truly anonymized and not linked to identifiable individuals, it falls outside the scope of GDPR.
- Legal obligation: Processing necessary to comply with applicable laws or valid legal requests.
International Data Transfers
Our Services are operated from the United States, and data may be processed by service providers located outside the EEA or UK, including Supabase (Section 4.1) and Google AdMob (Section 6.1). Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA or UK, appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) adopted by our service providers. See Section 4.3 for additional details.
Data Retention
Please refer to Section 10 for information on how long we retain data and the criteria used to determine retention periods.
Exercising Your Rights
To exercise any applicable rights, contact us at contact@ariassoftware.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we handle from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. Our backend infrastructure (Supabase/AWS) implements industry-standard security controls including encryption in transit and at rest.
However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use our Services at your own risk.
10. Data Retention
We retain anonymized analytics data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, typically on a rolling basis not to exceed 24 months, after which data is deleted or further aggregated such that it cannot be associated with any session or event.
Information you provide voluntarily (such as a support email) is retained only as long as needed to address your inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter for record-keeping purposes.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as our website or support resources). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party services. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post a notice within our apps or on our website, and update the Effective Date at the top of this document. Your continued use of our Services after the effective date of the updated policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information.
